Day 1: Departing Flight - Sunday, October 17, 2010

Choice of Two Departure Points:

Depart from New York JFK International Airport via Delta Airlines Direct to Pisa

- or -

Depart from Philadelphia International Airport via Delta Airlines through New York to Pisa

Day 2: Pisa and Montecatini

Arrive in Pisa before Noon, meet your guide, and board your private motor coach for a panoramic tour of the city before making your way to your hotel in Montecatini Terme. Your visit to Pisa will include a stop at one of Italy's most famous sights - the Leaning Tower. You will also explore the Campo dei Miracoli, where the Duomo, Baptistery and Camposanto complete a dazzling architectural ensemble. Enjoy lunch on your own before continuing the short ride to Montecatini Terme. For centuries, Montecatini has been an exclusive world-renowned spa resort, famed for its spring waters, thermal baths and numerous spa treatments.col pic Located in the center of Tuscany, it is the perfect location to base a thrilling week long experience of the region. The Hotel Grand Vittoria is highly regarded for it's lovely setting and appointments and its wonderful cuisine. In the evening, meet for a Welcome Cocktail and briefing prior to dinner in the hotel dining room with entertainment by the City Rhythm Orchestra.

Day 3: Siena

col pic After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin a full day tour of Siena. Set in the most beautiful Tuscan countryside of rolling hills, lush vines and silver-green olive trees, Siena offers much to see, from the fine palaces that line the narrow cobbled streets to the superb Duomo. It is a particularly enchanting city abounding with Gothic architecture and Tuscan cuisine. The Piazza del Campo is the main public square where the famed Palio horse race is run yearly. Next to it is the Palazzo Communale, along with a plethora of churches, museums and sidewalk cafes. Return to the hotel for dinner, followed by a performance at a local Montecatini nightclub. col pic

Day 4: San Gimignano and Chianti Country

col pic After breakfast, depart for San Gimignano - a town of Etruscan origin built by noble families and famous for its Medieval towers. The fourteen remaining towers line the ramparts like ancient skyscrapers. Spend the morning in this fascinating town, then continue through the scenic Chianti region. The beauty of this territory lies in the perfect equilibrium between the soft slopes and the crowded woods populated by ancient castles, secular parishes and beautiful villas.col pic You will be taken to a local vineyard - Fattoria San Donato, known for their excellent Chianti and other local wines. Enjoy a winery tour, wine tasting and lunch with music by the City Rhythm Orchestra. Return to the hotel for dinner and an evening at your leisure.

Day 5: Cinque Terre

col pic After breakfast, depart early in the morning for La Spezia, a coastal town west of Montecatini, along the Mediterranean Sea. Take a ferry boat to The Cinque Terre (weather permitting), one of the most beautiful areas of the Liguria Region. Here, five small villages are suspended between sea and earth, nestled in the cliffs overlooking the sea and green hills. The towns of Cinque Terre are among the most unique gems of Italy. Return to the hotel for dinner with entertainment by the City Rhythm Orchestra in the dining room. col pic

Day 6: Florence

col pic After breakfast at the hotel, you will transfer to Florence for a walking tour. Its striking buildings, formidable art galleries and treasure filled churches attest to the cultural significance of the city known as the birthplace of the Renaissance. You will see the church of Santa Maria del Fiore, known worldwide for its dome designed by Brunelleschi in 1418, a true feat of Medieval engineering. The Baptistery is adorned with bronze doors depicting the gates of Paradise. Your tour includes a visit to the Accademia to see Michelangelo's masterpiece "David", one of the most familiar Italian Renaissance images. Spend the late afternoon on your own exploring more treasures of the city such as the Ponte Vecchio, the famed Straw Market for shopping, Santa Croce or the Pitti Palace. Art lovers may wish to visit the Uffizi Gallery or the Bargello Museum, which house some of the world's greatest works. In the evening you rejoin the group for dinner at a fine local restaurant and enjoy entertainment by the City Rhythm Orchestra. After dinner, return to the hotel in Montecatini. col pic

Day 7: Montecatini and Montecatini Alto

col pic After breakfast, enjoy a full day at your leisure. Spend time exploring Montecatini on your own, enjoy a spa treatment, or visit the wonderful nearby towns easily accessed from the local train station. Within 30 minutes you can return to Florence or Pisa, or visit a wonderful Tuscan treasure - the city of Lucca. Other optional excursions will also be offered by your local guide. End your day by gathering at the town square of old Montecatini, known as Montecatini Alto, for an outdoor concert by the City Rhythm Orchestra. Farewell dinner is at the hotel. col pic
